Differences between Exchange Based Diversion and Prepaid Redirection

When disconnecting services you will sometimes need to convert the number to a diversion, most commonly you would divert a service if you were moving from one location to another outside of the previous exchange and the number can not be relocated

There are a couple of options for diverting to a new number - Exchange Based Diversion and Prepaid Redirection, these two products are commonly confused with each other as they are provisioned similarly and have many or the same options, this guide is designed to show the differences between these products and help you decide which is best for you

Exchange Based Diversion - Ongoing month to month

Provisioned when cancelling a PSTN service
Can have Announcement or Redirection Only
Shows as an Active Service so can be Churned or Ported
Will continue billing until cancelled by the customer

Prepaid Redirection - 3, 6 or 12 Months

About half the price of EBD
Provisioned when cancelling a PSTN service
Can have Announcement or Redirection Only
Shows as a Disconnected Service so can not be Churned or Ported
Will automatically disconnect when the allotted time is reached
